As if those in power have any idea what they are doing. They were handed this giant complex machine called America and are just sitting with their thumbs up their butts hitting it with a sledgehammer and whining why it won't play "Don't you forget about me".

Everyone in every "free" nation across the globe has to act with the crap creeping into every single one of them. Ideally something civil and simple like just doing nothing and shutting all shit down.

This Constitution web site thing is just an attempt to "squirrel" people off Epstein.

I'd hope the majority are planning and prepping with necessary supplies, medications and such. At this point, just need whatever that tipping point/powder keg is. Probably best when the summer heat starts dropping off. It is downright deadly out there this summer in much of the US and/or world, and there will be (at least in the US) no social assistance, it will all be community-driven.

That's because NYT is, and has been a garbage publication for over a century.

Hey, I think we found the "waste, fraud, and abuse".

Even if one did, say using x86, it would still just be interpreted by the CPU into the CPU's native opcodes, as the legacy instruction sets are interpreted/translated.

Two factors, probably:

  • America has never had a war on our soil, a real bona-fide war anyway. Smaller town or city-sized disputes that got whitewashed and omitted from history, of course. I don't think we fully comprehend what is necessary to protect our freedom? Not apologist here either, just...that is partly why. Look at how much we constantly boast about WWII even though we just showed up late, well-rested with a bunch of guns, after almost turning Fascist ourselves.
  • In America: You protest, you riot, you lose your job because you don't have enough time off available to drive 2500 miles, or the reason isn't valid based on made up rules by your employer. Then you lose your health insurance because you have no job. Then you lose your home because you can't pay the mortgage (or more these days, rent), your car on a 5 year loan is repo'd. So now your family is homeless without transportation or medical care and you're basically dead at that point.

They set the US up to make failure->death the easy fast default option unless you're a proper peasant working the fiefdom.

CBS shouldn't be cited as a news source anymore anyway. They've gone full magat. Watch their broadcast channel commercials some time. It's eerie.

This is a rehash of a rehash of that other article somewhere else on the Lemmys from the other day. This huge percentage of people falling behind amounts to a ~.5% increase from 2020->now. POINT FIVE PERCENT from like 5.5% to 6%.

Link closer to source data: https://archive.is/345KW

Also from that link:

NOTES: Delinquency is defined as the share of people having credit card accounts with debt that is 30 days or more past due.

So like, people could have been super distracted because America is dying, or it's summer and they're traveling, or the news made them forget, or whatever, and it just happened to make a hiccup that looks scary when put in percent of percent terms.

Until those countries fall as well. It is just delaying the inevitable rather than fighting back.

Nah, the good ones you subscribe to with actual money.

The Dinosaur Fire near NCAR coincided with a heat wave and severe drought in Boulder County. ‘We don’t have a ton of concern for public safety at this time,’ said Jennifer Ciplet, public information officer with the City of Boulder, around 1:30 p.m. However, officials are urging nearby residents to have a ‘go bag’ ready in case conditions change.
