Usually my mom's tripawed cat Franka keeps to herself and hides under the blanket on my mom's bed. When she wants some attention she switches to the couch.

Zwei Katzen und ein Platz an der Sonne Franka, die dreibeinige Katze meiner Mutter, lebt normalerweise sehr zurückgezogen indem sie sich unter der Bettdecke versteckt. Wenn sie Aufmerksamkeit braucht wechselt sie auf die Couch.

In the sun she even tolerates some vincity to my cat Miez.

In der Sonne lässt sie sogar zu dass Miez ihr etwas näher kommt.

However when Miez saw a butterfly (zoom in) and rushed to the terrace door right next to Franka that was a little too close for her comfort so she jumped up and hissed at Miez.

Als Miez jedoch einen Schmetterling (reinzoomen!) sah und an nahe Franka vorbei zur Terassentür rannte wurde es Franka zu eng. Sie sprang auf und fauchte Miez an.

Miez didn't care though and happily took advantage of the free space in the beam of sunlight.

Miez war das egal und erfreute sich an dem freien Sonnenplatz.

Franka hopped back to the couch.

Franka hoppelte zurück aufs Sofa.

I moved the rocking chair so that the both of them can enjoy the sunlight. However Franka did not return.

Ich hab' den Schaukelstuhl beiseite geschoben um beiden einen Sonnenplatz zu ermöglichen. Franka ging jedoch nicht zurück.

Even though I brush Miez regularly her thick fur gets warm really quick so she abandons the sun for her favourite box.

Obwohl ich Miez regelmäßig bürste wird ihr dickes Fell schnell zu warm und sie zieht sich aus der Sonne zurück in ihren Lieblingskarton.

I had the issue that when giving Miez her medication, it would not work properly as she was only breathing superficially. Didn't help either that she mostly starts purring once I pick her up, as according to the vet that is only superficially as well. She said we could give her a different medication first to expand her airways so that this medication can reach where it should. To avoid this, I had an idea: Get her worked up a little beforehand by throwing treats down the stairs.

Ich habe endlich rausgefunden wie ich Miez dazu bringe ihre Asthma-Medizin richtig zu nehmen. Ich hatte beim Verabreichen das Problem, dass es nicht richtig wirkte, da sie sie nur oberflächlich einatmete. Es war auch kontraproduktiv, dass sie meist anfängt zu schnurren, sobald ich sie hoch nehme. Die Tierärztin hat mir erklärt dass Schnurren nur sehr oberflächliches Atmen ist. Sie hat in Erwägung gezogen, eine Atemwegs-erweiternde Medizin zusätzlich vorab zu geben, damit das eigentliche Spray dort wirken kann, wo es soll. Um dies zu vermeiden kam mir eine Idee: Ich könnte Miez etwas sportlich beanspruchen, indem ich Leckerli die Treppe runter werfe.

Then I'll give her the spray as usual. Notice how she now breathes in with some effort? I can see through a little green flap that works as a valve that she now breathes in deeply, as I was aiming for.

Dann gebe ich ihr das Spray wie üblich. Bermerkt ihr wie sie nun mit etwas Anstrengung einatmet? Ich sehe über eine kleine grüne Klappe die als Ventil dient dass sie nun tief einarmet. Genau das wollte ich erreichen.

Afterwards she gets her other treat, a multi vitamin paste (currently with some digestion medicine mixed into it) as a thank you.

Danach bekommt sie als Dankeschön noch ihre Multivitamin-Paste (zur Zeit noch mit Verdauungs-Medizin vermischt) als Dankeschön.

I try to make her digestion medicine as appealing as possible by mixing it with some of her favourite treat (some light brown multi vitamin paste). I'm glad her overall health improved a lot but I still have to continue her medication to keep it this way.

Zeit für Miez ihre Medizin. Ich versuche ihre Verdauungs-Medizin so ansprechend wie möglich zu machen indem ich etwas von ihrem Leckerli (hellbraune Multi-Vitamin-Paste) untermische. Erfreulicherweise hat sich ihr Gesamtzustand gebessert. Damit das auch so bleibt bekommt sie weiterhin ihre Medikamente.

Luci präsentiert ihren Flausch

Währenddessen bleibt Miez stets in ihrem Blickfeld. Ihr Bruder Timmy flackt wie immer lässig da.

Finally I got a nice pic of all three of them. Good news, also finally, Miez got rid of her digestion isses after quite a while.

Endlich hab ichs geschafft ein nettes Bild mit allen dreien zu knipsen. Auch endlich gute Nachricht: Miez ist ihre Verdauungsprobleme losgeworden!

My parents are currently sitting my sister's cats Timmy and Luci. Since I'm in town a lot, too, I decided to bring Miez with me to best ensure her medication schedule. Timmy is such a cool guy.

Timmy spielt Vermittler zwischen seiner Schwester Luci und Miez. Meine Eltern hüten gerade die Katzen meiner Schwester Timmy und Luci. Da ich ständig in der Stadt bin, habe ich beschlossen, Miez mitzunehmen, um sicherzustellen, dass ich ihr regelmäßig ihre Medikamente geben kann. Timmy ist so eine coole Socke.

Miez and Luci are both used to having their way, so they are hissing at each other a lot. When Miez got her medication, which is mixed into a treat, Luci took notice and tried to take it away from Miez. I intervened, so Luci withdrew and kept watching.

Miez und Luci sind beide gewöhnt, den Platzhirsch zu spielen, also feinden sie sich viel gegenseitig an. Als Miez ihre Medizin gekriegt hat, die mit Leckerli vermischt ist, wollte Luci es Miez abluchsen. Nachdem ich eingeschritten bin, hat Luci sich hinten auf die Lauer gelegt.

To play fair, I gave Luci some of the treat, too.

Fairerweise hat Luci dann auch was abbekommen.

Afterwards Timmy went between them to stop them from hissing, which worked pretty well. He has done so several times already, usually first carefully approaching Miez, then his sister and finally lying down right in the middle.

Danach hat sich Timmy zwischen die Streithähne gelegt, damit das Fauchen aufhört. Das funktioniert ziemlich gut. Er hat das schon ein paar Mal gemacht: Üblicherweise geht er erst vorsichtig auf Miez zu, dann zu seiner Schwester und legt sich dann mittig zwischen beide.

This way, Miez can fully relax. I'm convinced Timmy likes her, even though at the very beginning he hissed at her as he was intimidated when Miez approached him. This amuses me as he weighs 7 kg and she only 3.5 kg. Miez simply doesn't care about other animals' size. She's very friendly if the other animal is so, too. Just a few days ago at the vet's she sat on my lap right next to a Yorkshire Terrier and both were fully relaxed.

So kann sich Miez total entspannen. Ich bin mir sicher dass Timmy sie mag, obwohl er anfangs eingeschüchtert war und sie anfauchte als Miez auf ihn zu ging. Ich find das witzig, da er 7 kg wiegt und sie nur 3,5 kg. Miez ist die Größe anderer Tiere einfach egal. Solange das andere Tier freundlich ist, ist sie es auch. Erst vor ein paar Tagen saß sie beim Tierarzt auf meinem Schoß direkt neben einem Yorkshire Terrier und beide waren komplett entspannt.

Sogar als sie Nala, die Hündin meines Kumpls traf waren beide friedlich.

And this is why we have to separate them when nobody can watch them.

Und hier zeigt sich warum wir sie separieren wenn keiner aufpassen kann.
