Because certain types of people would rather set their community on fire before electing a woman. Make no mistake about it, if given the option to change their vote, I doubt many would.

Misogyny and bravado. Same for a lot of the Latino and Muslim communities. If the election were rerun tomorrow they'd probably just not vote. People with these personalities will never vote for a woman.

Colin Powell was a well respected military leader and political moderate and he cashed in all of his influence to sell the lies to Congress and the population.

Performative patriotism is such an obvious thing to spot but too many people eat that shit up. You can tell exactly how much they really care for veterans by how they're treated when not being used as a political prop.
