So it's the GOP's dossier from before they pulled him for VP? Huh...not sure what to do with that, exactly. Definitely some meme potential, though.

The number of users to have voiced their disagreement already exceeds that of the admins.

Seems like it's kind of a moot point then, no? If even a majority of Ukrainian users are aware of the issues with the list, I would expect most would just leave and the list would fade into obscurity.

What does "witch hunt" even mean anymore? I feel like it has been overused to the point of losing all meaning. In this case, by "witch hunt", the writer means "they have started going too far and making some bad calls". They aren't calling for people to mount heads on spikes or review bomb, as far as I can tell.

It's a strange case, though. Who do we think follows these curators? The title of the list is in Ukrainian, so I'd guess it's mostly Ukrainians. On the one hand, I don't want to tell Ukrainian folks how to spend their money with respect to Russia. Maybe for some, even the slightest whiff of Russia will turn them off from the game, regardless of how logical it is. It's not my busieness to question the mostly-harmless emotional reaction of a people under siege. For those, these curation lists might still be useful. Of course, people that care this much would probably research another way if the curator lists didn't exist.

For others, I'm sure they would prefer a curator list that actually does the research and doesn't list a game unless the purchase would very clearly benefit Russia in tax dollars. For those, this turn of events is unfortunate. On the other hand, those people are probably level-headed enough to do their own research on a game-by-game basis.

My point is: the impact of these curator lists existing is probably minimal. But maybe i'm wrong, idk. What do y'all think?

My partner likes to adorn their backpacks and jackets with them. I haven't found a good use for them. Finally figured out what to do with all my misc stickers once i got a water bottle. lol

read the study yourself. The most commonly preyed-upon species by cats is birds. It's a global problem. I will grant you that perhaps cats fit slightly better into the urban ecosystems of Europe, but this is a minor point. They still have an outsized population due to human influence, so they will always be massively disruptive to local ecology. And none of this is considering the danger posed to the cats themselves, whom we all love.

even if they are native animals, the SIZE of their population is caused by humans, and so they are disruptive to their local ecology. and bell or no bell, letting your cat outside unsupervised is leaving them to get hit by a car, or tortured by mean kids, or scooped up by a predator, or stealth-adopted by someone who cares about the well-being of cats more than you do. I'm assuming you wouldn't be happy with any of those things happening to your cat.

i guess, but it would be weird to call all of Congress a "conspiracy" because they all conspire together in front of the public eye to debate on and pass legislation.

but that wasn't hard evidence with multiple data points. It was one, single data point, blown out into a full conspiracy. EDIT: If I am misrepresenting that conspiracy, please let me know. I didn't really pay that much attention to it, for obvious reasons.

But animals tend to enjoy the outside

Maybe yours do. If that is the case, take them for a walk on a leash or in a covered stroller. Build a covered patio. You could even play with them in your yard and bring them inside once you can no longer supervise them. There are many, many, many ways to provide this enrichment without leaving them to get hit by a car or scooped up by a predator.

TL;DW:

  • Many enhanced games are getting raytracing when they were using simpler lighting solutions previously
  • A surprising handful of games are getting 8K modes, though the 8K usually turns off other enhancements like raytracing. They mentioned GT7 and F1 2024 as two examples.
  • Most enhanced games are focusing on creating a "Performance Pro" mode, which more-or-less gives you the previous quality mode, but at 60fps. Some devs are planning on adding a "Quality Pro" mode that turns on even more features at the cost of FPS.
  • Most enhanced games are using PSSR to upscale from 1080-1440p to 4K.
  • PSSR seems to be better than FSR, but still a little worse than DLSS. Oliver noted a few cases of image breakup and ghosting around the edges.
  • Horizon: FW is not using PSSR, but somehow it seems to be the best-looking of all the enhanced games (in Oliver's opinion).
  • FF7R is dramatically improved image quality wise - previously, performance mode was real fuzzy.
  • Dragon's Dogma 2 is getting about ~50 FPS in the troublesome city scenes, but this is with RTGI turned on so that's pretty impressive.

The first panel depicts a child wearing a very creative and unique outfit, and their parent is pointing at them and saying, "You can't wear that to church." The child is replying, "Why? All my bits are covered." In the second panel, the same child and a grandparent are eating dinner at a dining room table, and the grandparent is saying, "You aren't excused until you eat everything on your plate." The child is replying, "Why? I'm full." In the third panel, the same child is holding a stuff animal, and a different parent is telling them, "You're too old to be carrying that toy around." The child is replying, "Why? The tag just says 'ages 3 plus.'" In the fourth and final panel, the same child is sitting across from a school principal in the principal's office. The principal is saying, "You can't argue with the teacher." The child is replying, "Why? He was wrong."]

The first panel panel shows two people talking. Person A is holding a book and saying, "It's hard to get excited about these new electric vehicles when I've seen much more ambitious possibilities in fiction." Person B is replying, "Sci-fi fan, huh?". In the second panel, Person A is looking at their book and going, "uhhh...yeah. Sci-fi." The third and final panel reveals that Person A is reading a book from the Busytown series, and it depicts a mouse driving a pickle-shaped car, a worm driving an apple-shaped car, and a pig driving a hotdog-shaped car.]
