That's not true, cold starts cause wear not warm starts.
At most it's starter motor and battery wear, start stop cars have agm batteries for that reason.
Not worth the hassle - best compromise is to get your own domain but use a provider like fastmail to host it.
If they turn sour you can move your domain to another mail host.
This is why you always book it as one flight with the airline even if it has multiple hops - its their responsibility to reschedule all the missed connections for free.
