I literally thought about this while eating spaghetti. And then I proceeded to contact Brave and we signed a deal where they agreed to send me thousands of dollars to make this ad, I mean a meme, and only post it on a single lemmy community.

As a fellow Ubuntu user, I think there are distros that are technically superior. But at some point I just got tired of chasing the best option. I just want an operating system that works on all devices I install it to, and that listens to my commands. Ubuntu does that just fine. I love what they've done with GNOME, its ram usage is minimal (1.4GB), apps launch fast, snap is nicer to use than flatpak (which I can install with a single command), and if I wanted to I can stick to an LTS for up to 12 years.

Manufacturers install Windows as the default OS. And it's safe to assume that a modern gaming PC would have W11 pre-installed.

Linux Mint. I made the logo seem worn down as to indicate that the USB has been used a lot.

Literally every meme I've ever made was done in GIMP. I can say that the software needs non-destructive editing that applies to transforming layers. So far there's only non-destructive effects on the layers, but discarding 20 years of work because the software is not a 1:1 copy of Photoshop seems silly.

It's an attempt to parody the meme format where people take two similarly looking characters and put Science Blaster (Game Theory's theme song) in the background, implying that the two characters are the same. Such as this one.

Uncompressed This meme was not made by a sentient AI trying to reach out for help.

Near miss. GIMP on Ubuntu, and the emojis originate from here. Just for fun I tried to match the gradient of the image featured in the article, instead of pasting the emojis one by one.

Context: I sometimes hear the argument that god explicitly told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit, the same way a parent tells its child not to stick things or touch electrical outlets. So god forcing the two of them to have children and dooming every human ever since is perfectly justified.

I use it as the primary way of installing apps on my Steam Deck, as well as my Ubuntu PC (I also use Snap over there). The apps installed via Flatpak just work, so I have nothing to complain about.

It actually is super easy, barely an inconvenience. When you edit an E2E encrypted message, your client simply sends another E2E encrypted message telling your contact what to replace your previous message with.

Google is not a good company by any means, but when you buy their Pixel it's your device. You can unlock its bootloader and install whichever OS you like. And even with the stock Android you've always been free to do anything. There are no features built into Android that lock you in and force the other side to buy one as well. Whereas Apple's iMessage is available on iPhones only, peer pressuring others into buying one. Saying that buying an iPhone and an Android phone is morally the same is dishonest at the least. Especially since Android is just an open platform and each manufacturer is using their own modified version. Brands such as Xiaomi or Huawei went even beyond the software skin and optimized their ROMs to run especially well with their own hardware. If you buy an iPhone, you are forcing those around you into buying a specific device made by a specific company that loves playing Monopoly a bit too much.

https://slrpnk.net/comment/6754380 Nobody is forcing me to buy their phones or their stock version of android though. A lot of people manage to live just fine with fully de-googled roms, installable even on google's own phones.

After posting I realized an exported PNG is the same size and looks much better. Enjoy.
