I'd imagine this is their solution for Xbox exclusive games with their upcoming handhelds, since those are only going to have the Windows GamePass, no additional Xbox compatibility.

Huh? Investment people definitely didn't wait for that classification to start turning it into a speculations market. The SEC actions were largely reactive.

My local bank's investment and wealth management bros were already all about crypto long before regulations.

I'm not trying to make their point for them. I'm trying to softly suggest a course of action that will make conversing online easier for you and the people you interact with.

I'm a little sensitive to this sort of stuff right now because one of the better people on lemmy, Admiral Patrick, is shutting down their lemmy instance dubvee in part due to patterns of people assuming bad faith in online discourse.

Just save yourself the effort by not assuming they meant something bad in the first place. Most people with the kind of terrible opinions you assumed will out themselves fast enough, without assuming bad faith. There's very little to gain by trying to "hunt them down". They'll tell you who they are themselves very directly.

It is not the other person's responsibility to respond to arguments against and counter points to things they never said, just because you thought they might mean it. This isn't a press conference. You aren't some reporter trying to catch somebody out in a contreversial statement to help pump reader numbers. This is a relatively casual conversation online. Be casual. Be kind.

I hope I've made my thoughts clear on this. Either way, I'm done. Hope you have a good day

No.

Lemmy already has serious issues of political divisiveness driving off new users. We don't need to further that "to own the libs".

While I don't truly think that's why this is being suggested, we don't seem to have a good reason to refedrate other than "they appear to be behaving lately".

Also, the optics of the timing of this occurring right as Admiral Patrick is closing dubvee over (among many things) the general tone of discussion on Lemmy being abrasive as all hell in large part due to political division spurring disrespect? Not a good look guys.

I was trying to be kind/funny in case you didn't mean to imply that they were supporting that sort of thing, because they didn't say that. Now you're just being condescending.

Let me be direct: Nowhere did that user say that they supported the current criminal penalties around drug usage. Maybe you could wait for them to say so before you assume they support something that most people find objectionable.

You know, treating someone's statement as being made in good faith until it's proven otherwise?

Two lips on my organ? They knew.

I'm not sure where he said that was the other option he supported. Maybe I need my eyes checked.

My doctor isn't going to be able to restrain someone raging on bath salts. Or a belligerant drunk on the public bus.

Yours must be pretty swole I guess.

GPT will list fake sources. Just in case you aren't aware. Most of these things will.

Holy shit, Atlas Shrugged. It was a drag, I wasn't enjoying it, but I could tolerate it. I was young, and had heard that Bioshock drew heavily from it.

Then all of the sudden, around the start of the last 1/4 of the book, Galt (business magnate mcperfectman) just magically hijacks a radio station with no explanation of how and spends more than 30 fucking pages talking in circles repeating the main theme of the entire fucking book. Structured as one single, unbroken monologue. That's it, that's the chapter.

Ayn Rand is definitely not a good writer, but this? If you made it that far in and somehow didn't pick up on the themes she was trying to put down by that far in, you should get checked for brain worms.

Brings what little momentum the whole thing had at that point to a screeching halt. At the third page of it I threw the book across the room and didn't touch it for almost a month. During the time of my life when I was absolutely devouring books.

Also, the woman writes quite possibly the most unsexy sex scenes I've ever laid eyes on. Like grey molassass slowly oozing out of the page. Maybe that was her genius: making sex scenes that evoke the same emotional response of quiet resignation as filling out DMV paperwork.

And those scenes were meant to be the "I'm a liberated woman taking control of my sexuality, I'm free" sex scenes.

Just don't. Not even for curiousity's sake. Just don't.

What's kind of fun is that there are two. Depends on if you want just New Vegas, or if you want to shove Fallout 3 into Fallout New Vegas's game engine and play them both with some crossover content using Tale of Two Wastelands to combine them (have to own both though).

Viva New Vegas is the version for the base game, and is probably the best "vanilla+" modpack I've used in quite a while.

The Best of Times is the version for TTW (Fallout 3 shoved in with NV)

That out of the way, holy shit! It's kind of neat that part of Analog Nowhere made its way out into the content regurgitators of the open internet to make it back to Lemmy through a different instance in a terribly cropped and compressed form.
