There are now more than 140 unique Aerial screensavers from 21 locations!

Unfortunately it appears that Apple did some cleaning and scrapped some legacy links. Over the years Apple has updated several Aerials with new color grading, framing or timing and most of the dead links are of the older versions. I’ve added 1080p SDR sources for most of the dead links, but there is still one from Hong Kong that I have not found a source for.

As for the new screensavers the only sources discovered at this time are 4K SDR 240fps files (presumably pulled from macOS Sonoma). If 1080p and HDR versions exist and are found I will add them to the spreadsheet.

Some apps, like YouTube, allow signing in to multiple profiles directly within the app. Most streaming services have a single sign on, with multiple profiles.

And then there are apps like Twitch, and Spotify, where you can sign in, but only to one account at a time. These apps would be perfect for Apple TV to store login info with the currently active profile. My wife and I have different music tastes, and different twitch subscriptions, and it would be really nice to be able to quickly switch between logins, without having to go through the entire authentication process again.

Right now it seems that the only thing that gets swapped between user accounts is iCloud media and Game Center data. Why can't it be like any other operating system where each user gets their own preferences, logins, layouts, etc.

If I buy an Apple TV box can I stream my own collection of movies, etc from my Mac (or it’s external storage) through Apple TV in a similar way as using Videostream via google chrome cast? Videostream isn’t working on my Mac anymore and it’s a pain to screen mirror (also hit or miss on my TV).

No Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision when using Amazon Prime Video. I’m very disappointed. Instead I get Dolby 5.1 and HDR

Does anyone else find it annoying that turning off the TV now takes an extra click? It's a small inconvenience, but after the tvOS17 update, you have to hold the home button and click twice instead of just once like it was in tvos 16.

Last night I tried something new. I pressed the Siri button on the 2021 ATV4K and told Siri to disconnect my non-Apple Bluetooth headphones that were connected at the time.

The problem is that I actually asked Siri to turn off the ATV Bluetooth altogether. I didn't realize it then, and I wondered why everything was frozen for 1 to 2 minutes. Then Bluetooth was completely off.

Now I can't get it to come back on. I can use my iPhone as a remote or use my Samsung TV remote but my ATV remote and all Bluetooth speakers no longer connect.

I have tried all the pairing and resetting options for the remote. I have gone into the settings and nothing will connect via Bluetooth. I get a popup message saying that I need to turn on Bluetooth in order to find accessories. The popup just says to go to settings.

Is a hard reset my only option?

It unfortunately looks like tvOS 17 has severely destabilized Apple's native video player, at least in regards to time shifting (start from beginning) live in progress events. I've seen this same behavior so far with MLS games in the TV app and last night's Eagles/Bucs game on ESPN+ via the ESPN app. At the very least when starting a live in progress event from the beginning, I'm noticing the following glitches with my Apple TV 4K 2nd gen...

-The stream randomly freezes.

-The newer gen Apple TV remote 10 second skip forward randomly causes the stream to rewind 10-30 seconds on the first press, but then immediate subsequent presses does skip forward.

-After performing an action like skipping forward, the video player overlay for the most part no longer automatically goes away.

I only started having these problems, after the tvOS 17 update. Hopefully some people from the tvOS development team are lurking here and see this, as I figure trying to explain this to a 1st level support rep would be a waste of time.

After I updated to tvOS 17, my remote stopped working on my Sonos Playbar. It's usually set for IR, and before if I had this problem I would reprogram the Sonos to receive IR signals from the Apple TV remote.

I found this post, but I no longer have the "TV via IR" option. I only have Auto, HDMI, and Off.

Any suggestions before I try a System Reset? I don't want to have to start from scratch if I can help it. Or is there a Restore setting I'm missing?

UPDATE: FIXED! Under settings it was set to volume control auto, I switched it to TV via IR and it now works.

Looking for some help here on what to do. We have the newest Apple TV 4K with Siri Remote. Randomly, quite possibly after upgrading to the new TV OS last week, our remote stopped controlling the soundbar volume. Unfortunately, we don’t have the remote to the soundbar anymore so I’m not sure what to do. We bought this Apple TV 4-5 months ago to replace an older Apple TV which we put in our bedroom. I went and grabbed that remote to see if it worked on the soundbar, and it still does.

Any advice on what I can do here to get the Siri Remote to control the soundbar again?

Edit.. things I have tried are restarting the Apple TV through the settings, unplugging everything and plugging back in, and the first comment on this post of unpairing the remote and re-pairing it.

Apple needs the option to use the default player. There are so many apps with terrible players with terrible UIs. Or just force every app to use the default player. The inconsistency is a terrible user experience.

I have an Apple TV 4K newest version and after updating to the newest firmware I’ve been having audio issues. Some apps have no sound, while others do.

The fix is to unplug the Apple TV wait a minute or two and reply it. Restarting the Apple TV won’t fix the issue.

Never had the issue before updating.

Hopefully someone can help with this, I have looked online but can't seem to find an answer.

I regularly work out via the Fitness app on my Apple TV. I have a slight annoyance in that whenever I first sign on I have to select who is working out. I get the option of my wife's 2 devices, my daughters iPhone then 3 of my own devices.

Is there a way to either A. Remove users from this screen, my daughter will never use Apple Fitness. Likewise I'll never access Apple Fitness from my work iPhone, nor my personal iPhone to be honest. Or B. Can you re-order the list of users? If I could at least put my iPhone first in list it wouldn't really matter too much.

I'm not really sure how the list is organised. It's not alphabetical otherwise my devices would show first, nor is it by most used as again "David's Apple Watch" would also come first.

Seems like really sloppy UX from Apple.

So I’ve been reading a lot here that the suggested format etting is 4K SDR with range & frame rate setting to “On”. I have a LG G1 and the latest AppleTV4k and upon setting the format to 4K SDR, the device actually suggests me to switch back to Dolby Vision as it improves picture quality.

I am a bit unsure what to set now… any suggestions? Should I follow the AppleTVs recommendation and enable 4K Dolby Vision or use the community advise of 4K SDR?

I have a pair of mini’s on my Apple TV 4K and I can not get them to work more than 5 or so minutes. I have them set up as EARC with or without this they will play for a few minutes and then silence.

Toggling back to sound bar and back results in more silence.

I have reset them about 10 times in total. They have no issues streaming music from an iPhone or Mac but it’s literally been trash trying to get them to work with ATV.

I have tried two other HomePod mini set up as pairs and same issue.

I was thinking either or network but I have a fairly powerful gaming router and 1G fiber internet.

I’ve all but given up at this point and I guess will put them in a closet or something cause I have several others around the house for Siri and music.

Update: just wanted to add all devices are updated to 17 and issue persist.
