It's because of people like @unicornmeat@lemy.lol who like to create alts, then just come in and serial downvote.

This is the actual message he sent me just now: "Nah, off to make another account to make you look like a fool."

It's not the first time he's done this, his account was created just 23 hours ago as of this posting. He's been creating alt accounts for the last several months in order to come here and downvote. lmao

So I banned him and suddenly he stops posting anywhere on Lemmy. Why? Because he only created the account to troll me and this community.

Lemmy is totally de-centralized, so it's very easy to make as many alt accounts as you want to. That's your right. I'm cool with it.

But it's also my right to ban the alt accounts for serial downvoting and ban evasion. Especially if they are chronically obsessed with me. :)

If you feel you have banned in error, and really feel the need to be unbanned from a community you hate anyway, then feel free to direct message me.

EDIT: And he came up with even more alt accounts today because he loves me so much he can't stop thinking of me. lolololololol

I don't necessarily agree with all of his views, but he seems nice enough.

There will be more conservatives coming soon, too. I started a Reddit thread inviting more conservatives to Lemmy. It'll be good having lots of different points of view on Lemmy! :)
