Remove All American Media And Culture From Your Life

Anti-imperialist comm to help you in your personal journey of cultural anti-imperialism.

American culture has spread all over the world, it has dumbed down and impoverished our variegated pre-colonial and non-capitalist cultures. Every time you yank yourself, a bit of their culture worms its way into your mind. Sometimes it's explicit propaganda like Top Gun, but sometimes it's subtle: the contempt shown for the poor, the celebration of selfishness, the value-system of their empire.

All inputs enter the mind, are absorbed, and blossom as thoughts and deeds. Mass-produced culture dulls you and makes you a boring, mass-produced personality. And nations are losing their personality by letting one imperial power do this to them.

That the empire is doing this as a more-or-less deliberate tool of influence doesn't need stressing.

Stop doing this to yourself. Don't watch their television. Don't watch their films. Don't read their stupid news and politics: ABC and CNN and NBC and the rest. Don't be so fucking boring. You don't have to be boring and stupid. Turn off your TV. Pick up some of your country's classic books, or listen to African funk, or go to a storytelling night.

I'm trying to read more original French and Spanish, but I'm not at the level to read Balzac or Cervantes.

Who are the Dan Browns and Steven Kings of Spain and France?

Rebecca Hall is amazing, probably one of the best actresses working today. She's perfectly suited to these sorts of kitchen-sink psychological dramas.

I am a fan of group dances and of dance competitions. At some point I came across what seem to be high school student dance competitions in Vietnam (often labeled "flashmob") and they've been really fun to watch. However, my Vietnamese is extremely basic so I have very little context for these. If anyone here knows some more context on these I'd be very interested to know more, they look like really fun events. (Also found one that seems to be teachers dancing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8taPdbqr37k)

I also found many group street performance vids, (Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQ9NC1ugO7A) the ones I find are typically on some famous streets, these are fun too, though I like the spirit at the competitions with the cheering crowds.

I like dance so dances from any country is very fun to watch. But I found these from Vietnam when I was looking up some Vietnamese songs and just found them fun and wanted to share. If you know any similar stuff from anywhere please feel free to share it

Very fun movie, I watch it with my brothers when we get together.

The original was in 2015, there's a couple of sequels from 2019, and a new one from 2024 (haven't seen it)

give it a watch - might not be funny to westerners, idk

I see so many of them on my viewing site, like 20 new ones a week – I need some curation, some recommendation system
