MODERATORS

if not somebody should create one!!

like a Firefox for dating.

if our communist comrades made it, we could slip in commie propaganda and sex positive stuff too. and you could still make money off of generic ads in the app that like, sex toy makers purchase, or cheap ads for like Democracy Now! etc.

There used to be a few, but legislative capture has made it just about impossible for new dating apps to clear the higher and higher hurdles to get off the ground.

there's legislature around dating apps?

Yeah, specifically the overlap with chat apps that make it very hard to have actual chat functions without a lot of established presence as a service already.

EDIT: For clarification, it is good to have age verification and other protections. The issue is that there's a lot of regulatory groundwork for any up and coming dating service to even begin competing with the established and consolidating dating industry giants, and some of that is by design of the giants themselves as they swallow up smaller companies.

I assume around age verification to prevent abuse of minors, or possibly stuff to avoid platforms being used for sex-trafficking? Or maybe not so altruistic, since we're talking about US-based companies.

I meant those, mostly. Yes, otherwise it's good to have safeguards against kiddie creeping and trafficking.
