You heard right. The roguelike aspect of it is just ok imo, but when you mix it with the base building and resource management it becomes really addictive.
Bosses are good but there isn't a lot of variety in how a run goes. Like how in Hades, EtG or Isaac the rewards you get absolutely change your strategy, that's the gold standard for me.
