He doesn't physically pick up the hammer in the comics. He uses his magnetic abilities to get around the weight and worthiness issue.

So, he just had more power than the enchantment.
Guess ~~Zeus~~ Odin should have gotten the master enchanter to do the job properly instead of hastily whispering some words into the hammer.
