They keep referring to the genocide as the 'Israel-Hamas war' even though there are other major factions like the PIJ, PFLP, Mujahedeen etc

Keeps the narrative simple and erases the political and existential nature of the struggle by collapsing it down to Evil Mooslems vs The West pigmask-off nato-cool

If westerns knew there were like twenty groups with different beliefs and politics united in to a literal Rebel Alliance they might ask the wrong questions.

Alternately; The News Media are just dumb as hell propagandists huffing their own farts who don't really give a shit.

Both of these things may be true.

also if theres ever a risk that westoids stop for a second and dont just say "hamas" and realize that this or that instance its literally a couple guys down the street that are not that effectively organized they might start to
