the train train spent the entire 25 minutes continuously moving, stopping, and then reversing, everyone that it was “moments from clearing the track” the entire time

A bunch of dorks that have never lived anywhere near where freight rail operates. About half the places I've lived were not too far from train yards, this is very expected behavior in those areas.
