I'm not sure this is a good idea. Surely this sort of messaging is better aimed at independants / floating voters? You'd think that any republicans who see this are going to go straight into "REEEEE DEMONCRATS SEE WHAT THEY DO THEY KILL BABIES REEEEE" mode and dig deeper into their mindset.

The ad is designed to keep the abortion issue talked about. Have you noticed how Republicans have gone radio-silent on abortion? They don't want it brought up. This is a smart move.

Ding. The SCOTUS ruling is wildly unpopular. Republicans literally just took one of their cornerstone issues -- abortion -- and said, "Nah, we're done with this," and handed it to the Democrats to use in elections for several cycles.

"We know we've spent decades harping on abortion but you need to stop thinking about it now. Oooh look over there shiny!" That's why these ads are being run and I agree it's a good idea. Maybe some additional ads that are like white trailer park looking people talking about how an abortion saved their life or how their baby was stillborn so they had an "abortion" and how traumatic it was and how much more traumatic it would have been to have to carry to term.

They are the dog that caught the car. I remember some maga mom being absolutely enraged when the abortion thing leaked out from the corrupted too-conservative court. My wife asked her....but WHY are you so angry that they are going to overturn Roe? Isn't that what you want?

This woman screwed up her face and screamed that liberals were going to use it against Republicans. Yeah, no kidding. But it's what you guys WANTED. For about 50 years. WTAF.

This is the one group that seems perpetually pissed off about everything, all the time, even getting things they wanted and asked for, like tearing up the rights of women, and naming a special counsel for Hunter Biden...who can maintain that level of rage all the time? It cannot be good for your health.

This is so true! One thing I've always loved about American liberal culture (yeah, I know; we're not really liberal here) is that we laugh at our mistakes. For most of my life, Cable and Late Night comedy shows have been helping us find the humor in the things we would otherwise be enraged about. I feel like it has helped me stay sane all these years. I kind of feel bad for the Fox News-watching conservatives who spend their days oscillating from outrage to fear to outrage again. It must be hell on their cardiovascular health.
