Also, always funny when I see liberals downvoting truthful articles about their beloved democrats being shitty, too.
Liberal doesn't mean left anymore. We seem to be conflating them these days. I hope that changes.
Never really did though. Anyone who is actually excited by establishment democrats isn't really any kind of leftist.
Fair point. I think my conflation of the two came from media despite me always shaking my fists at the people who were supposed to be on my side.
Despite all that, I've always referred to myself as a leftist (and when joking around, I would add "pinko commie bastard").
Liberal never really meant left. Traditionally "liberal" was more an old-timey word for libertarian.
Even more recently "liberal" was just kinda an upper-class socially conscious do gooder who would always be reactionary if they felt personally threatened in any way.
