This isolationist mentality of 'do not speak unless spoken to' is one of the more repulsive aspects of modern society. It either implies that only certain people should be worthy of the privilege to initiate conversations, or that nobody should be able to outside of required interactions dictated by circumstances of business or socially mandated exchanges.

Are people so disturbed that anyone would speak to them? There's no hope for improvement of the fractured society we live in if every message needs to be filtered through a screen and displayed to a pre-determined audiance.

I think it may be that a lot of women don’t enjoy the kind of u wanted attention due to their being sexualized from a young age, or that is what I have been told by many women I have talked to about their experiences.

And their experiences are valid, but the response doesn't need to be such an aggressive do-not-approach mentality.

Many years back I was in a shop that had an oldies channel on and I heard this song that, while from well before my time so I'm speculating a bit here, probably caused some panic back in their time.

Now we OnlyFans and TikTok with all their various levels of showing off that has for a long time been championed as empowering and free willed choice.

Somewhere in the middle ground between the excessively conservative repressed mind and the 'everything is sex' space there was a nice middle ground of 'hey, would you like to go out some time' without it being a commitment for either marriage or an orgy.
