An eerie public show of support for Luigi Mangione outside New York Supreme Court on Monday drew comparisons to The Manson Family. A few dozen masked young women swayed and sang as the alleged UnitedHealthare CEO killer pled not guilty plea on terrorism charges . The 26-year-old sported a collared shirt, maroon sweater and orange shoes as he leaned over to a microphone to enter his plea. During his court appearance, he smiled at times when talking with his attorneys and stretched his right hand after an officer removed his cuffs. Mangione did not appear to have any family members with him. But one report suggested about two dozen women supporters got seats in the courtroom galley. In a scene reminiscent of Charles Manson's cult followers in the 60s, a few dozen supporters wearing masks chanted 'Free Luigi' outside over the blare of a trumpet. Some even were seen visibly singing, as a few masked Mangione fans sang 'The Hanging Tree' from the film series The Hunger Games. The song's lyrics include a repeated line: 'They strung up a man/They say who murdered three.'

Amazing that the feds and media aren't asking themselves if they're the bad guys in all of this. This guy killed someone who murdered thousands with the stroke of a pen. He has almost universal support. It couldn't be more clear to the public that this is only 'terrorism' because the person he killed was a wealthy CEO and that the justice system is corrupt.

A shocking public show of support for alleged UnitedHealthare CEO killer Luigi Mangione at his not guilty plea on terrorism charges Monday drew eerie comparisons to The Manson Family

From who, Daily Mail, who made the comparison?

Natalie Monarrez, a 55-year-old Staten Island resident, said she joined the demonstration because she lost both her mother and her life savings as a result of denied insurance claims. Read More Luigi Mangione speaks in court as he answers to terrorism charges for CEO shooting article image 'As extreme as it was, it jolted the conversation that we need to deal with this issue,' she said of the shooting. 'Enough is enough, people are fed up.'

I'm not going to post the rest of the article because it just goes into the details of the Manson cult, and I find the comparison of a shooting where 0 innocents were harmed to a racist cult to be disgusting.

also an insane comparison to make when luigi* has already accomplished so much more than manson ever did. they just murdered some actors like psychos, didn't even start the race war they wanted. even their dreams were small. when people looked at manson, they saw a cultist. for better or worse, when the average us amerikkkan looks at luigi, they don't see a lunatic cultist, they just see a guy who finally did what everyone was thinking without harming a single innocent.

*luigi: not necessarily the guy who did it, let's see the feds explain why they couldn't find the guy but supposedly he just had all his stuff on his person at fucking mcdonalds

I’m still not convinced he’s the guy, and not just in a “the state has to prove its case” way. The photos of Luigi in the hostel he’s wearing different clothes than the shooter. It’s not like we have video of Luigi walking out of the hostel and walking right to where it happened, we have images of some guys in the default outfit of a white man in New York that could possibly be Luigi placed between the hostel and the shooting. You had nothing on him for days and then suddenly found him because of a called in tip? How did you know that tip was legit? I know you’re not investigating every tip, there’s no way there weren’t tons of false reports submitted. He had the gun and bag on him? The bag you found in Central Park two days earlier? The gun that should be at the bottom of the Hudson?

I’ll be honest it doesn’t check out to me, and I know juries love to convict people based on way less evidence than that but he’s a very sympathetic defendant.

Also generally I think it’s bullshit that the cops just stop searching when they decide themselves that they got the guy. He hasn’t been convicted yet, you have no idea if you got the guy or not. Get back out there and keep searching, the shooter could very well still be on the loose.

I agree with you entirely, I just didn't want to type it all out.
