Be careful, don't you know that you aren't allowed to enjoy things made by bad people?

Don't mind me, I'll be over here with American Gods, Good Omens, and the Harry Potter books. Not enjoying them one bit. Because I'm a good person who believes good things and only supports good people.

More seriously, I'll try to buy any future copies of his stuff used, but I'm not going to sweat it. There are far more things I purchase and use on a daily basis with far worse people and power structures behind them. Not going to worry about a single author.

Just going to be annoying discussing anything I read online without ppl chiming in about how the author sucks, basically forced to talk about his work in fringe communities that support the author too much

I agree once art has been put out there it's no longer just owned by the artist. If they are a Dbag just means I can still their art guilt free. Note this only goes for books, paintings and such where it's a single artist. I try my best not to fuck over second AD just becase a writer is shit head.

The problem with Harry Potter isn’t the author, it’s that they’re (barely) mid books for babies lol.

I swear like 70% of readers are not literature fans. They're just doing escapist nostalgia on a loop. Repeatedly reading Potter into adulthood is fucking wild lmao

even then the mid books are the first three, rest are shit

Crazy that the children's series about magic isn't more artistically sound and thematically complex, what is the world coming to?

Fair enough. Not like they're anywhere close to favorites of mine or anything. Was just the most immediate non-Gaiman example of books by a bad person I could come up with.
