Hello! Migrated over to Lemmy. I've noticed in the past few weeks a lot of posts/comments about protests, criticizing Nazis and Elon being censored/removed. This was all magnified in the past few hours as /r/whitepeopletwitter was banned tonight to satisfy fElon.
There were a lot of highly upvoted actual death threads on the sub. I hate Elon Musk as much as anyone on this websites but if you have a bunch of posts with thousands of upvotes calling for mass murder, it's obvious what's going to happen.
How is one guy a mass murder?
How is "pink mist them all" refering to one guy?
Where in the screenshot does it say that?
The entire reason that subreddit was closed was due to the post that hit the frontpage with more than 15k upvotes about two days ago and the comments in the thread. Claiming that it was banned for no reason or simply because Musk wished for it is either in bad faith or straight up lying. I saw that thread being made and it was obviously violating Reddit ToS (and the actual law) so hard it should've been instantly deleted. Yet it wasn't.
Sounds like something to address with individuals through moderation, and maybe a site ban for individuals depending on TOS details, not the entire sub.
Banning the entire sub, then, comes across as something else entirely.

A handful of comments with less than 50 up votes, what a fucking threat.
It also seems like they are more or less talking about the 6 or so Hitler Youth Musknhas working for him too.
So while it would be advocating murder, I am not so sure about the "Mass" part.
