I heard them use jokes I've only heard on Hexbear, but I kept chalking that up to "maybe this is just leftist twitter humor". Now, I'm casually listening to the latest episodes and one of the hosts made a throwaway line about lathing something into existence. There is no way that bit is used anywhere other than Hexbear.

The Lathe of Heaven is an Ursula K. Leguin book so you'll see leftists reference it everywhere. I'm surprised that it would be referenced as part of the common cultural corpus of knowledge though, it's not exactly Star Trek.
