If you (admins) decide you do want to participate in the bidding war, I am willing to front the cash as long as it doesn't get too outrageous and we could set up donations afterwards for me to recoup what I can. I realize that it's like the lowest form of charitable donation imaginable, but a lot of people (myself included) get a lot of positive mental health benefits out of this community and I'd hate to see it lose a whole bunch of members because they weren't able to figure out what happened or where we all disappeared to.
Message me if you want to discuss it further.
we have a plan to mitigate any security issues of losing hexbear.net and have a handful of people willing to pitch-in for the hexbear.net domain. we are exploring what it would look like to change domains, and as such want to involve the user base in what the name change would be. there are a number of folks interested in helping with the cost of obtaining hexbear.net so that is undoubtedly an option as well
this message felt too corporate can y'all never say you're exploring something in the future?

Pathetic, not even a single mention of synergy.
