are republicans promising to abolish landlords now?
What does "abolish landlords" look like in practise? What is that slogan suggesting exactly?
Community land trusts
This does not even begin to answer my question.
I haven't seen that used as a motto by a consistent group that might also have a longer explainer.
But, presumably, it would force all rental agreements to be replaced with mortgages. Presumably, hotel/motels could still provide long-term non-mortgage housing, but they have a good amount of regulation and generally provide services currently landlords do not.
Alternatively, it might be non-literal motto that doesn't want to abolish landlords, but rather to more severely regulate them.
Keep voting for the same people that your state has had in charge for 30 years, that's definitely going to fix the problems that have been getting worse and worse.
Huh no answer to his question. Funny that...
Ok so you missed the point.
Democrats have been in charge for 30+ years. They've been in charge and helped create these problems. Do you think they will fix them?
Republicans didn't get CA into this mess, Democrats did.
What a moronic, trolling response. These problems aren't unique to California nor any other state. It's a national issue. If Republicans are the "poverty saviors" like you claim, then why are all the poorest states red states? CA has the 5th largest economy in the world FFS.
I see you're the same "FreedomAdvocate" from that other post where you were arguing that it's imperative that the government lock citizens away in a mental institution without any sort of due process. So much for "freedom," eh? That really highlights what you're really all about, which is spreading right-wing propaganda and disinformation.
So with the 5th largest economy in the world, you’re all crying about homelessness and a cost of living crisis and a housing crisis and not enough jobs…..and you think just electing the same people with the same policies over and over again will magically fix the problem? What’s the definition of insanity again?
Are those poorest states in the country also maybe ones that are majority rural?
As for looking through my post history, a few things:
So let’s get back on to this topic hey?
Why do you think the democrats will all of a sudden fix the problems? If you don’t, then what possible alternative do you think there is that might be worth a try?
You're the one who missed the point.
Landlords and the system that treats housing as a profitable investment is the cause of high costs of living. This happens everywhere in the US. Cities where people want to live in the reddest of the red states have the exact same cost of living problems. Its a fundamental problem that is inherent to for-profit real estate.
Neither party wants to dismantle that system. Your solution is not a solution. High cost of living cannot be solved by switching to the other current political party.
I think you'll find California had a Republican governor 20 years ago, and they couldn't pay their their tax refunds.
20 years, oh well you showed me. They’re definitely the ones to blame for the current situation. Better keep voting for the current lot, they’ll fix it this time im sure.
Still didn't answer the question I see.
You not being able to understand that the question was answered doesn’t mean it wasn’t answered.
Lol
You: "CA is fucked"
Me: "CA has been run by democrats for 30 years, maybe it's time for a change?"
You: "You think republicans would be better?"
Me: "Democrats have gotten you in this position, so...."
You: "ANSWER THE QUESTION!"
Come on mate, the question has been answered. How do you not see that?
