I had the itch to play some Final Fantasy VIII (my favorite FF game) and I decided to fuck around with a new emulator since Mednafen is a bit jank on my old laptop I use. Anyway I downloaded the duck and shit, blows me away! It's UI is 1:1 set up just like PCSX2 and super easy to use. It scans for bios and game files, has a little library that uses pictures for your games like pcsx2 does, and it's even got shaders, nice.

Can't see myself ever needing to download another psx emulator ever again after this.

I agree. Duckstation is awesome and works really well. I've been playing a little and especially love the fact that you have achievement systems with it. Do we have a list of preferred emulators and/or rom resources here?
