Thank you so much! The series is called Brambly Hedge. My partner loves those, I'm gonna get them a book.
I bought the Brambly Hedge Library (which is the complete box) as a gift for my girlfriend last Christmas. She absolutely loved it, as it is one of her childhood favourites. I ended up reading it to her (a 31 year old woman) on cold winter nights.
I'm looking forward to reading them to my 28 year old woman :)
I don't know by heart but I believe this illustrator has done loads of children's books. Big chance if you insert the images URL on tineye.com you will find your answer.
