He also mentioned there is much more censorship in American movies vs in soviet cinema and I assume he would know.

I remember reading that too.

He said that he was surprised at the relative lack of regulations in Soviet cinema, especially in regards to violence.

The only thing you couldn't do, was advocate for the overthrow of socialism
