What a fucking ignorant thing to say. Fuck you. Because I live in the same state as a bunch of bigots you're saying I should suffer? "That was the time for righteous anger"? Don't let others ideas of who is part of their in group and who can be excluded get to your empathy. I am glad you have it even if you don't see it from anyone else today ( and hopefully I am wrong and you see lots). For every person you give comfort to today for being a good person in a bad place I thank you on their behalf even if they don't.
Here in California we have more racist rednecks than several red states combined, they're just outnumbered. State borders have nothing to do with where the actual split is, rural vs. urban.
If only you could spend a portion of this emotions on fight or flight. But alas.
