Yeah, ada sees it as her project, not a group project for the whole trans community. Marcie has tried many times to get us back together on something but it always explodes cause of Ada's ego. Typical when a lib gets control of a trans space, really.
This is basically why I think it would be good for us to take a big first public step. Libs are almost always willing to cave to optics and I think our trans community voting strongly in favor of refed hurts the optics enough that Ada would be forced to capitulate.
Although now that I posted this she could just go find this post and say SEE HEXBEAR TANKIE MODMINS ARE MANIPULATING THE TRANS COMMUNITY or something as if we aren't part of it.
I dunno. I just like Blahaj and think it's such a shame that we don't hang out anymore.
Also sorry for hijacking this thread. I'll stop now
We had a big thing where we were trying to replicate r/diy or r/transsurgeries from reddit on a separate 3rd instance, Marcie got like 15 people in the same chat who were interested in working on it then ada pulled the plug on it basically when they weren't all going to do 100% exactly as she said essentially. Oh well 🤷♀️
Yeah, the main issue was she wasn’t prioritizing the right things. A trans surgery comm would require a lot more privacy than a normal comm. we were proposing one that would function as an isolated comm which we could add people more carefully to after some basic screening process but she wanted it to be pretty open in terms of federation.
She wanted to prioritize growth over privacy and that was the biggest issue
Her idea was never going to work while hexbear and blahaj was defederated, on a technical level.
It would be nice if we could just whitelist specific comms between us, like trans mutual aid/support comms or relatively light-hearted comms like /c/cute (shameless plug).
thats a common behavior with her
Sad
