Funny you ask this because just a few months ago the Lady Izdihar channel on YouTube made a video with book recommendations on the topic of religion in the Soviet Union: https://youtu.be/zpWjKdgvLrA

Of course Islam being one of the major religions of the Union features prominently in the literature.
