God its so fucking good. I've never played a story-heavy game and then wanted to immediately replay it. I've played through chapters 3 and 4 twice in the past month and I wanna replay it again already. Honestly if you haven't played it, and you have any interest in story games, I recommend jumping in now. The release of chapters is such a fun and exciting time and I wouldn't wanna miss future releases. Also if you don't want to play, at least check out the OST because its without a doubt the best I've ever heard.

Even people who love the game say there's a lot of brainrot (complimentary?) and fandom stuff because there just objectively is. There's literally a

spoilersemi-secret boss rush where the bosses are literally just fan theories about who Mike is.

There's bits about Ralsei as merchandise with an actual plush. There's just a ton of extremely "for the fans" content.

That's fair.

Nevertheless, my point is that the games are highly popular as they are approachable to most people, and many people cherish the story, the characters, and the gameplay. In instances of the "for the fans" content inside the games, I believe most people who do not participate in the fandom just glaze them over and still enjoy the game. The fandom shouldn't stir anyone away from playing the game, nor does it for at least hundreds of thousands to millions of people.
