Any hot war is going to expend that in weeks or less. Laudable perhaps to describe war as insane - but not exactly realistic.

NATO military doctrine doesn't require as many tanks has the Soviet doctrine, which Russia is still using, does.

So, what - do you think this is just mismanagement of funds? Possibly to meet the minimum defense spending, I suppose. It could be.

Well it's the military, so mismanagement of funds is a given. But that's not what I'm saying.
I'm saying that this number was probably aligned with the rest of NATO already, and that NATO doesn't expect to lose 180 tanks by driving them single-file on a highway.

It's 180 in that first batch. Contract apparently is for 1,000. With a joint effort of production, so the last batch will be fully assembled in Poland.
