To prevent rain on the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing was an use? Go figure

So a single use (asserted by you with no supporting evidence) should be enough to convince us that there's a widespread conspiracy to manipulate weather and cause things like hurricanes and the Texas flood? What evidence do you have that these were deliberate and not the natural results of fossil-fuel driven climate change (results that scientists have been warning about for 50 some odd years)?

What would be the reason for the larger scale instances that Republicans are claiming and who is doing it?

How do you go from

No, I just don’t flat out refuse to believe weather modification has been and still is a very real thing.

to

By lumping weather modification (as another user posted, like silver nitrate) together with what you claim I meant (which I don't, that's ridiculous) you keep the discussion stigmatized. The fact that some known experiments don't seem harmful at the first glance doesn't mean other, harmful, chemicals aren't used. We don't know because there is any department or agency that oversees such things. That's what it's all about. There should be full transparency about these things.

They dumped silver nitrate on the clouds the day before so that would become heavy and rain.

This technology is widely known and was developed in the 1980s.

Its nothing to do with the water droplets trails that planes leave behind.

Rereading my comment, I get the responses now. With the "No," I meant to affirm that I know what contrails are and I know ie. silver nitrate being sprayed from a plane wouldn't seem visible like an contrail.

I should've phrased it better.
