He wasn’t a saint but he also wasn’t abusive to anyone as far as I know so I’m curious as to why you say that. Can you please enlighten me?

I won't care more more about eating the heads off doves than someone eating a steak in a "civilized" context. Both likely caused suffering.

I still respect the man and was shocked to learn of his death.
