Lemmy was a hard one a decade ago. Plenty of metal stars gonna go in the nect decade :(

It only seemed fitting to have Lemmy himself as the icon.

Lemmy legit was one of those days that's hard to explain for me. I was out in Orlando applying to anywhere and everywhere when I heard about it on NPR. But hearing the story of those closest to him, he went out just the way he wanted, spinning a slots game and hopped up on speed. I actually watched "air heads" that night cause of Brendan Frasier's line about him.
I still felt emptyish for a few days after.
Lemmy is god!
Maybe because I have been bracing for this since the 4-wheeler accident, but it strangely has not had any effect on me.
I am playing Ozzy and Black Sabbath at my shop, and likely will for the next week.
The celebrity that hit me like this was Anthony Bourdain. It sucks to lose someone who you identify with, even if you never met them.
Robin Williams for me. I was at a bar with friends when I found out and just sat in stunned silence for at least a half hour.
Was at a restaurant with my wife when it came on the news and we both started crying and everyone looked at us like we were crazy and the waitress brought us a free appetizer and cried with us.
Never had a celebrity death affect me like that.
Yeah, Robin hit me hard, too, but not as hard as Bourdain. I liked Robin more from when I was a kid while I identified with Bourdain as an adult. He inspired me to travel and is the reason I met my wife.
Yeah, that was really hard for me as well. He, Bourdain, and even Hunter S. Thompson as well. For musicians, Freddy Mercury is the famous one that was rough, and a buddy of mine who killed himself back in '04 and got me into using DAWs and such initially. More recently, LaForge from Skeleton Dick, 30 Foot Fall, and sometimes a band I was in as well (among others).
MCA for me. changed my entire life when that happened
Douglas Adams for me.
Petty and Cornell back to back were real zingers for me. Ozzy was sad, but I'm glad he was able to perform one more time. Mama, he's come home.
I got mad lumped up just typing this lyric into the "news" post about this.
I asked my wife on this as this is her biggest fan person that goes way back in her life. She said she was alright and I said. Is it because you could sorta see it coming and she said. yeah.
Mine was Alexi Laiho. I knew it was coming and I missed his last show… RIP Ozzy and Alexi.
I had a hard time with Eddie Van Halen and Chris Cornell off the top of my head
The timing is crazy, the end of an era.
TBH the death of Ozzy has provided me great hope and comfort that Sharon will die soon too.
