Just FYI, this is the part where you explain what the hell a 512k game is.

Old Macintosh computer, although it didn't have a color screen...

Not 512k game, 512K Mac game.

Jeez, kids today need to know their computer history.

[–] ChihuahuaOfDoom@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

See, I'm not that old, my middle school typing classes were on Mac Classics not ancient hardware like the 512K.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Ok, but the 512K was kind of a game changer. It turned the Mac from a novelty to a competitive machine. Which made GUIs more popular, which in turn led to Windows as well, and Linux desktops and everything else.

[–] ChihuahuaOfDoom@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

I was just kidding, I think the 512k came out 4ish years before the classic.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

So just saying, I'd call that a "Mac 512k game", since it's called a Mac 512k. Word order matters. I'll admit, I'm 41, and I'd never heard of a 512k before.

I never used a Mac so it’s not my computer history
