Just popped in to say that I miss Memmy. I switch between Voyager and Thunder these days.

They are ok.

Yet I’m still back here, on this community, telling y’all my opinion on it.

I have tried all iOS lemmy apps and i always return to Memmy. I hope developer will come back after his rest from burnout.

Have you tried Avelon? It has some nice features. There is a premium subscription to get all the functionalities but it’s worth it. It even has groups where you can put a bunch of /c together.

Yes i have. I will still wait before i decide to go premium on any app. They are all pretty new so far. Although with Memmy, Avelon is on the top of my list.

I really like this app and I use it a lot, but I certainly need a lot more features before I am willing to pay for it:

  • upload of images in comments and the text section of a post
  • screenshot function like Apollo had
  • proper in app linking of Lemmy links (Lemmy links shouldn’t be opened in the browser)
  • open in App if the browser is on a Lemmy instance
  • videos should be played in the app that’s a huge one for me, especially peer tube videos
  • give me the possibility to directly upload a video to a peer tube instance of my choice, directly in creating a post.

I experienced a few crashes and lags here and there.

But I will definitely buy a few apps if they get more features. Btw. I don’t think theming is so important, it’s more like a nice to have.

My biggest thing before I pay is the developper needs to prove us this is a long term commitment to making the app.

I agree, but also this is kind of hard to prove.

Well if your app gets a track record of regular updates (so far only Voyager seems to be updated regularly and frequently) and that for a few months in a row then yeah I’ll pay for the app. Also I expect no beta version or major bugs in a paid app.
