November is one of the two months that probably sells the most games. Do you buy something new or play an old game that probably got released in november?

Last month I've played Nier Automata an Final Fantasy 15. Funnily enough, I liked on more than its reputation made me belive I would and the other less. With those two, I've also worked through my backlog of physical games.

This month I started Dragon Quest 4 in preparation for the upcoming Dragon Quest Monsters. I'll probably have time for at least one other game, but I'm undecided yet.

ff15 spoilerI kind of liked some things about it as well. Fight against Leviathan and some other bisses was quite goid and some things like the animation of shiva. For a while the teleportation was nice to play as welk, just got boring a bit because it always feel the same. And this horror section and the end of the base game was weird for me. Buss i guess i liked it because i played through it quite fast.

more ff15 spoilerThe game play is definitely a mixed bag. For once, most of the other characters have some kind of combo mechanic and other things to consider, Noct however only teleports around and maybe swaps weapons to be more effective - or just uses the royal arms. You play him the most but he's almost the least interesting one to play as. That being said, I quite liked how many different things the game throws at you. There are cinematic boss fights, a horror section, 'stealth' fights, actual hunt sidequests where you hunt down bigger monster, crossover events with other games, interesting dungeons and much more. However, I spend way too much of my playtime just riding my car or some chocobos in an almost straight line to get there. I'd like it a lot less if the bromance between the main cast wasn't as enjoyable.

FF15 had some really cool set pieces. Between those and Aranea, I mostly liked the game.

I feel like I missed the memo on NieR: Automata's final ending. Countless stories of people getting wildly emotional over it and I thought it was just...fine?
