Hollywood would never make a movie where the protagonists shoot cops and are justified doing it. It’s a miracle the original was ever made.

I totally agree. This movie is great, but I think a modern remake would be interesting. It’s such a commentary on the rich and powerful people controlling everything, and now we are seeing so much more of that

Why would You remake a good movie? Remake shitty movies with a good premise. Imagine a current remake of They Live. The aliens would be CGI. The alley fight scene would be done with stuntmen and to hide it, there would be so many cuts, You wouldn't be able to follow what's going on. The finale would have lasers, explosions and starships."I have come here to chew Hubba Bubba and kick butt".
