Controversial opinion: spend all of your time on activism and none on unilateral sacrifices that won't lead to systemic change. You've only got so much time, money, willpower, etc.
The "carbon footprint" paradigm is designed to exhaust or discredit those who actually care, so that their political impact will be reduced. The moment one suggests that we fix this global prisoner's dilemma, they're labeled a hypocrite by people who don't understand economics.
