I feel like YouTube has gone back to normal now. I used to need to update uBlock (origin) manually few times a day but I haven't needed to do that for weeks now.

50 yo sysadmin using uBo, had the same issue as the other fellow. Don't be so dismissive, you are not the average case.

Well I did get the warning several times while using Firefox + uBlock Origin and I had to manually go update the "quick fixes" filters in order to get it to work again. I did have other add-ons for YouTube aswell but no other adblockers.

Funny, I still have yet to see ads or performance changes and I've been using Vivaldi with no ad blocker but the built in one.

Guess that answers whether it has a better ad blocker than Brave.

I didn't even know know there was a non Origin version of uBlock and I've had the same problems as everyone else

On my laptop I actually have AdGuard (I think? The one with the hedgehog mascot) and that has never given me any ads

It's really a case by case basis

YouTube keeps buffering and skipping short sections of videos for me on PC with uBlock origin. I'm so confused since apparently AdBlock Plus which I don't use was responsible for the whole buffering thing and now I'm here and wondering wtf is wrong with my setup

What browser do you use?

Google slows down YouTube for any browsers that don't run chromium

Yeah my videos sometimes skips forward a few seconds aswell but it doesn't happen often enough to be an issue. Assuming you have other extensions disabled for youtube and if you're on FIrefox; remember to also turn off the enhanced tracking protection for YouTube (shield icon at the address bar while you have youtube open)

I do have Firefox although on LibreWolf I didn't experience those problems a few weeks ago. Thanks I'll check! I also have Enhancer for YouTube as a plugin so I can set custom speeds etc for videos but I disabled its ad blocker and use ublock for that. Wasn't a problem on Librewolf either but I'll try to look into it. Thanks!

Yeah I have the YouTube enhancer aswell with adblock disabled and it doesn't seem to be causing any issues.
