The sad and frustrating part of this is that he has plenty of cult followers who would gladly set up a GoFundMe for their "billionaire" "king".

[–] squiblet@kbin.social 38 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Fine, let them donate money to this pit vs. donate to fund his campaign or other Republicans.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 17 points 11 months ago

fun fact. these are donations to his campaign....

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

Individual donations don't matter in a world where the Kochs have virtually unlimited funds in order to sway elections the way they like.

Trump's not going to pay a dime anyway. No one holds him accountable, so why would he?

[–] aseriesoftubes@lemmy.world 19 points 11 months ago

I’m good with separating those fools from their money. Ms. Carroll gets paid, and Trump’s rubes have less money to spend donating to other harmful shit like republican campaigns or churches covering up sexual assault.

With how he's been acting I think that well is drying up these days. As much Russia wants to contribute they have their war to pay for and sanctions make it more difficult (I hope), I'm sure his supporters are less able to contribute since they've given so much already, I doubt he's getting many new supporters. He'll still get more than most people can reasonably make in 20 years but it'll never be enough for Trump.

Plus I think his legal bills are catching up these days funny how a billionaire has trouble paying lawyers for even a handful of cases eh? That's like pay a few big firms type of money available, if it were there. Maybe it's just because no one will work for him but I imagine he could get a hundred decent lawyers if he paid properly.

funny how a billionaire has trouble paying lawyers for even a handful of cases eh

Assuming he would pay them if he could afford to

[–] vind@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Has he ever paid his lawyers?

[–] veroxii@aussie.zone 10 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I read last year that lawyers now refuse to work for him unless paid up front since he's left so many of them out to dry.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Why don’t they just sue him?

[–] veroxii@aussie.zone 5 points 11 months ago

Cause he gets the next set of lawyers to stall the first set of lawyers? 🤷‍♂️

[–] squiblet@kbin.social 2 points 10 months ago

State RNC branches are going bankrupt, too, as people are donating money to national and Trump and not them. Also Trump had the national RNC paying his legal bills but they backed out... and Trump's PAC (which he has diverted money from to pay legal bills) asked for a $60 million refund from another group due to mounting legal bills.

[–] tsonfeir@lemm.ee 5 points 11 months ago

Works for me as long as she gets paid. He’s never gonna do it.

[–] badbytes@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Draing the WHOLE swamp.
