yes, which means you do recognise that the term isn't "neutral" and therefore can and should, at the very least
as op suggests.
There is manufactured outrage, and then there are the people who are looking for things to be outraged over.
So if you were friends with a trans woman who didn't want to be called dude, you just wouldn't give a shit and call her that anyway?
No, there's one very obvious right answer, and the fact that you won't give it is telling.
