They did 2 years ago.

Bruh Sinema left the Democratic Party and Manchin was a Democrat in Name Only. The Dems were quite literally handicapped legislatively, I dont fully agree with American Democracy, but I am aware of its nuances, dont be asinine.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world -4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

No. They ran as Democrats. They had the party's financial support during their elections. You don't get to retroactively disown them now that they've blocked legislation that the party never had any intention of passing.

There are always enough manchins.

I'm not a Democrat, but ok. However, THEY disowned the Democratic party my guy, they quite literally were bought out by special interests, the party had every intention of passing a shit ton of legislation, you are sorely misinformed. I had extremely low expectations for Biden's administration and he exceeded almost every one of them. Facts dont care about your feelings.

I have no reason at all to believe this.

"They totally wanted to pass stuff, believe me!" isn't a fact.

[–] Grayox@lemmy.ml 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Bruh i literally explained why they couldn't pass as much as they wanted and your response was that you didn't believe they wanted to pass anything. Lol, lmao even.

Bruh i literally explained why they couldn’t pass as much as they wanted

Predicated on the unknowable notion of whether they wanted to or not.

You take them at their word that they wanted to pass stuff. I don't. Your unfounded belief that politicians are telling the truth isn't a fact, and I've never claimed that my speculation is.

[–] Grayox@lemmy.ml 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

They literally tried and voted on them, but were prevented by Sinema and Manchin Educate Yourself and stop basing your views on how you feel. Done with this conversation.

[–] bigMouthCommie@kolektiva.social -2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

knowing that sinema and manchin didn't support it, can we be sure they even wanted to accomplish it, or just that they wanted to appear to want to accomplish it?

[–] Grayox@lemmy.ml 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Yes, I'm extremely critical of the Democratic party for not being far enough to the left, but the stuff they wanted to pass that the 2 Senators blocked were no way to the left of other Legislation they have passed in the past, you are making multiple leaps in logic that make you look the fool. There are multiple other things to be critical of the Democrats for, being blue balled by these 2 Senators isn't one of them.

[–] bigMouthCommie@kolektiva.social -2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

i don't believe democrats actually want to fix anything ever. if they did, they couldn't hold it over our head that they WOULD fix it if we vote for them next time.

[–] Grayox@lemmy.ml 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I'll agree that they dont want to change the status quo, but they don't actively want to make it worse, and that is unfortunately enough to gain my vote in the current political climate. Any incremental improvement they accomplish is better than what the Republicans would do if they had control, what is your solution?

[–] bigMouthCommie@kolektiva.social -1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

build an anarchist revolution

[–] Grayox@lemmy.ml 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Lol thought you were a Comrade not an Anarchist, there is nowhere near enough class conciousness for either of those revolutions to take place in US soil, what are you doing to build it?

[–] bigMouthCommie@kolektiva.social -1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

you'll know if you ever meet me.

Will do, you keep on discouraging it while offering zero alternative with actionable steps.

[–] Nudding@lemmy.world -2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Sounds like it's not working my guy.

No shit, it was designed to protect the interests of the Burgouis.
