MODERATORS

Examples that come to mind:

  • saying your favorite video game is Disco Elysium
  • saying your favorite TV show is Star Trek DS9

The two rules are that:

  1. It has to be to do with a category that is socially acceptable to talk about with most people in a casual setting. So no politics or philosophy.
  2. Nothing too on the nose, ex, no "I love the music of the Red Army Choir" or something.

I'd say anyone who likes the Culture series, but a lot of techbros like it and don't really connect up the politics (basically a high level communist society doing an interventionism)

Musk famously named a couple of his spaceships after Culture ships, and if there's anyone the Culture is wonder-who-thats-for for it's him.

Bezos also likes the series and nearly made a tv adaptation of Consider Phlebas that thankfully fell through.

All the bazingaires are wow cool spaceship wow-cool-robot about the Culture while missing communist themes that couldn't have been more overt without each book just pausing to quote the manifesto in full.
