Brian Mulroney
Ah Canada okay.
Gusssing he was a neoliberal like the other two?
We had that in Australia with Bob Hawke.
Yeah He was the leader of the then progressive conservative party. The neo-liberal party at the time. That party has since merged with the right-wing populist Reform party and became the Canadian Conservative party. A bunch of American Republican wannabes.
He introduced the Canada-US Free Trade Agreement, the Goods and Services tax (GST) which is a universal tax on products and services that replaced other existing taxes, and privatized a bunch of crown corporations, or corporations that belonged to the government, such as Air Canada for flights, and Petro Canada for oil exploitation and transformation.
We lost big on those last two. And now Air Canada has become one of the sittiest airlines in the world. And Petro Canada now profits private shareholders instead of Canadians, who funded the company initially.
Wait, has orange man been bad this entire time?
