He 100% did this because people told him not to.

Like, they said you had to wear glasses, and he had to "prove" them wrong.

People with poor risk assessment often only care if consequences are immediate and severe

My city warned of potential power interruptions during the eclipse, I'm assuming it's cause part of our grid is solar, and we have sensor Street lights that might turn on and drain power. lady at my work insist that the government is doing some shady shit to the power grid and are using the eclipse as cover. Today I caught her looking at the eclipse without glasses and shading her eyes with her hand, when I told her it wasn't safe, she told me that they told people that, so everyone would buy the glasses and they can track who is compliant by the glasses code.

Anyways, it's these type of people who think they're so smart that they got it all figured out, but are in fact so stupid that they'll stare at the sun during an eclipse, because someone smarter told them not to.

Let us know on Wednesday or Thursday if she can still see.

She’ll probably just have had bad headaches and nausea that she could blame on the 5G tower they installed nearby.

[–] quicksand@lemm.ee 2 points 7 months ago

Well if course she will. They were also messing with the 5G during all this eclipse bullshit in a way that would only hurt the anti-vaxxers. /s

I don't even understand that logic, even if they were tracking who went and got the glasses - what does that tell them?

"These people went and got eclipse glasses when we recommended it, so when we command them all to kill any Republicans or people who go against our LGBTQ+ adrenochrome agenda, those people who obeyed the order to get the glasses will for sure carry out those killings."

What even is the logic about being sure not to be "compliant?" What hold does someone have on you because you've proven you will consider and then follow reasonable medical advice?
