The Airplane! movies hold up, fight me.
(Please don't fight me I'm old and tired.)
Fight you? You wouldn't even try fighting back except during the playoffs, Kareem!
Haven't watched them in a long time, I have no doubts they hold up great as movies, but I'm curious if any of the humour wouldn't pass the current PC guidelines.
It passes. It's all visual gags and word play with no butt of the joke. It is possibly the only timeless comedy that will remain funny for generations to come.
There's a few times they get racial, but it does manage to stay pretty tame about it all.
When they are showing the newscasters around the world, it certainly skirts the line, but doesn't cross it. Much like the fellows speaking "jive", they pull it off without turning the black men themselves into the joke.
