I just plunked $6 in quarters into a machine to wash my clothes (edit: and another $1 for the dryer), and I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

6 for a wash is a lot. I travel for work and the hotel machines were 6 for a load (wash+dry) and those tend to run high

The dryer turned out to only be a quarter (edit; per five minutes, took me twenty to dry my clothes completely), I assume because if it was much more people would hang their clothes up or something.
