Three Indian nationals have been arrested and charged over the killing of a Sikh separatist leader in Canada, which sparked a major diplomatic row between the two countries.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar, 45, was shot dead last June by masked gunmen in a busy car park in a Vancouver suburb.

The diplomatic row escalated after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged India's government may have been involved.

Delhi strongly denied the allegation.

In announcing the arrests on Friday, Superintendent Mandeep Mooker said the three suspects were Karan Brar, 22, Kamal Preet Singh, 22, and 28-year-old Karan Preet Singh.

Had to look up the word tankie as I'm not following US politics too much these days. Its meaning seems so specific, but its use is starting to adopt a much broader meaning lately. I see the word everywhere all of a sudden. Like a word-du-jour.

They're basically who the Russia gate chapotraphouse type folks were.

A mixture of fake leftists (right-wing operatives), foreign operatives, naive teenagers, etc.

Either they drank the kool-aid or they're pouring the kool-aid.

Nah, it's just because you're on Lemmy now and there are a bunch of them on servers that you're federated with. On other platforms, they get pushed into little corners. Here, they (and everyone else) can set up a community on equal footing. At least until they get defederated if they're really bad.
